Itage Telifisan, a premium 24-hour Yoruba lifestyle television channel, is set to launch on NigComSat on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. The channel is heavy on clean entertainment, including movies and music, with other things in-between, and aims to promote the cultural values of the Yoruba race worldwide.
Itage Telifisan started transmission on July 7, 2021, on the AVO video-on-demand digital platform and is also available on several other digital platforms.
The channel has been well-received by viewers, and the management of NigComSat has entered into a 3-year carriage contract with Itage TV.
With the launch on NigComSat, Itage Telifisan will become NigComSat’s main Yoruba language channel, which is currently developing its own decoder, to enable monetization through monthly subscriptions. The encryption of the channel will ensure that only subscribed viewers can access its programming.
The Nigeria Communication Satellite (Nigcomsat) provides digital satellite television in Nigeria through its Direct-to-Home (DTH) platform.
