Prolific Juju Musician, SOA Plans 20 Years on Stage, Album Launch

[dropcap]P[/dropcap]rolific juju musician, Semion Olatunde Atilola popularly known as SOA has admitted that Juju genre of Yoruba music is no longer enjoying the needed promotion like it was in the past.

SOA said unlike in the hey days of musicians like Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, IK Dairo and Dele Abiodun, Juju music does not enjoy premium promotion, both on the media and off the media.

SOA was speaking during the unveiling of plans for his 20th year on stage celebration which he said will be commemorated with the launch of his latest album.

The juju musician said all efforts by contemporary juju musicians must be commended but there was need to do more.

According to SOA, the 20 years on stage celebration and album launch is another attempt in the effort of bringing juju music into the consciousness of fun-lovers and to draw attention of traditional media like Lagos Television to the beautiful genre. He said that was the reason he decided to host the event at the premises of Lagos Television.

The event is scheduled to hold on Sunday 13th October 2019 at the Combo Hall of Lagos Television LTV starting from 1pm

US-based Yoruba actress, Asunramu plans ‘Old School Night 4.0’

Come November, 11 2022, Nollywood actress, Mistura Asunramu will be hosting Old School Night 40 and Recognition Award.

The event which is packaged by 11th Media Global Concept will be featuring stage performance, award presentation, comedy, dance, premiere, fashion parade, gifts and lots more.

It will also double with movie screening of Apanimayoda.

Tope Alabi Falila Alagbo is the MC of the event while the music session will be played by Babatunde Anomatopia.

According to the organisers, the event will be taking place at Crystal Event Center.

The time for the event is 7 pm while the Dress Code is an African Culture of your tribe.

Ticket will be the regular 30 dollar and it will be a table for four with a drink of 250 dollars.

Otunbajesu to release new album, ADUNBARIN in October

Renowned gospel singer, Otunbajesu , Amb Oludele Ayominkun has set to release a new album, titled “Adunbarin” (great Companion) and the album is expected to hit the market by last Sunday in October, 2021.

The music is produced by the award winning music group, Da Spirit Music Crew. The group is known for their inspirational, spirit and soul lifting songs.

Adunbarin is a 4 track inspirational lyrical tracks, including one appreciation party mix track.

The album is a project that converge highly respected musical producers, sound engineers and notable magic hands (instrumentalists).

Over three musical marketers are on bid for this awaiting project.

Speaking on the new album, his manager Abiodun Olowokanga and Integrity News who is the official media partner to Da Spirit Music Group said all hands are on deck for the production of the new soul lifting album, stating that the project will be unveil and available in the market by the last Sunday in October.

The manger noted that the project is powered by August Plus Media.

Otunbajesu has released two albums prior to this new one which are, Alasepe, Arabaribiti and now to also release Adunbarin crooner with his Da- spirit crew.

They are strongly set to storm the gospel music world with this great album.

Music star, Sound Sultan dies at 44

Nigerian music star, Olanrewaju Abdulganiyu Fasasi, popularly known as Sound Sultan has died of cancer at the age of 44.

He was diagnosed with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma, simplified as cancer of the throat which eventually took his life early this Sunday. Sound Sultan died at a hospital in the United States of America.

Sound Sultan was a rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, comedian and recording artist.

His family released a statement to announce his death

Parts of the release read, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of multitalented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound sultan. He passed away at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.

“He is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings. We, his family will appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with the tragic loss.”

Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) is a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, which is a group of related malignancies (cancers) that affect the lymphatic system (lymphomas). Lymphomas are the cancer of white blood cells (lymphocytes) and can be divided depending on the type of cells, B-lymphocytes (B-cells) or T-lymphocytes (T-cells), AITL is a T-cell lymphoma.

The lymphatic system functions as part of the immune system and helps to protect the body against infection and disease. It consists of a network of tubular channels (lymph vessels) that drain a thin watery fluid known as lymph from different areas of the body into the bloodstream.
