The Legislator needed to be appreciated when good governance is being delivered by the executive in a state of excellency because they are the engine room that make laws for executive.
Rt hon speaker Mudashiru ajayi Obasa ,speaker of the 9th Assembly in Lagos state , made these call at the Ultimate Night Ceremony organized by the Ultimate Circle of Nigeria (UCN) a social , philanthropic and welfare club which sole responsibility embodied on visiting and donating to orphanage , old people’s home as well as organizing medical seminar .
Rt hon Obasa said
“Nigeria should learn to appreciate and commend the Legislators because we are like engine inside a Rolls Royce car , people appreciate the outward of the car but forgot that it is the engine that makes it move , so we are the Brain behind the good governance delivered by executive, with good bills that are transmitted into laws for the executive to execute, legislators deserved to be commended ” .
The Lagos state house of Assembly Speaker commended the group for their humanitarian activities and called on relevant stakeholders to join the crusade in reaching out to the less privilege and downtrodden, because the government can not do it alone , he also applauded the Lawmaker hon Lukmon Olumoh for his service too as he described him as one of the best lawmaker on the red floor of the Lagos state house of Assembly,that contributed and debates on bills that will better the lives of his constituents and Lagos state .
Meanwhile, the president of UCN , hon Lukmon Saad Olumoh , lawmaker representing Ajeronmi ifelodun constituency II , spelled out the activities the group are involved in the past years which are family reunion , focused on visiting and donating to orphanage, old people’s home, buying drugs , clothes, foods , package and project that will benefit their members , organizing of retreats , brainstorming on how to support other people and also raising funds that will help to alleviate the poor in the environment.
Hon Olumoh also , applauded the social group on adopting a home at Amuwo Odofin where the less privilege are being catered for and that the club is also soliciting for more funds to extend his activities across the state , so that the Group Life and Group Accident insurance policy that is being run , will cover it’s members in commemoration of special events in their lives .
Ultimate Circle of Nigeria, a social group have 43 members including the spokesman for the All progressive congress Hon Seye Oladejo is a circle of friends drawn from university, ile ife , Oshogbo and Lagos .
The events were attended by members of the Lagos state house of Assembly from Ikeja , kosofe , Mushin , Lagos state commissioner for energy Olelere Odu, Engr Gbolahan Toriola , perm sec Transport, Gm Lagferry Hon Ladi balogun , Hon Kamal Bayewu , Lagos state local government commission, and other captain of industries .
