Notably, like every well spanked naughty child, a peer of Ishaq Akintola has taken to the space to stand with MURIC. Unfortunately, like his adjunct Professor, he being undiscerning of the issue, shallow in reasoning and incomprehensible of communication wrote a pitiable piece.
I am shocked that neither the Professor or his errand runner, a faceless Jubrl Ette, are capable of attending to issues raised!
Lagos State Government needs to get the work log at the collapsed building out for the world to see that “our brother a Pastor”, Christian, and Yoruba by tribe hired some Muslims to work on that project, and indeed, like their Christian colleagues, died with that project! How can some heartless clowns turn a time of mourning into a moment of mockery?
Akintola and his organ of bullying; MURIC failed to deploy their learning to admit that a town planner is not qualified in the first place to work as a project engineer for such a project. An alleged town planner sought employment as a civil engineer, and a Professor wants him to get the job because he is a Muslim!
It is about time that Akintola’s Professorship be investigated. Professor of what? His thoughts processing and verbal diarrhoea is an embarrassment to the academia and Lagos State University! Should competence be sacrificed on the altar of religion? To think that he kept quiet until the man, who ought to have a right of reply died, is nothing but cowardice! Or is it that he is rejoicing of the dead and the entire Lagos state for the unfortunate incidence?
I think the attention of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCEA) should be drawn into this embarrassing situation of this MURIC’s sacrifices of scandal for cheap popularity. They should kindly call the tantrum throwing Ishaq to order and compel him to apologise to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and also to the Afenifere, the umbrella body of all Yorubas that he drew into the issue needlessly!
It is out there in the open that the Nigerian system is screwed against the Christian faith and any tribe where we are in the majority must bear the brunch of Jihadists attack dogs! Tribes where we are in the minority are worst hit by genocidal attacks effectively covered by their agents in Government, as terrorists would rather be called bandits, kidnappers or at worst insurgents, while we the Christians look on! An unofficial ambassador of Government among terrorists even had the gut to refer to them as “freedom fighters”!
But when a Christian businessman uses his faith as one of the parameters for employing his staff, Muslims are maligned and marginalized! Who in the whole world is not afraid of Muslim genocide and Islamic bombing tendencies?
When Muslims officially met at the Islam in Africa Organization Conference and passed a resolution in Abuja in 1989 to “ERADICATE in all its forms and ramifications all non-Muslim religions … these religions shall include Christianity”, such resolution is the will of Allah! Are we still wondering at the onslaught against Christianity in Nigeria? Is the plan not right now here in our presence being carried out and enforced before our own very eye?
When Mosques are built freely all over Nigeria but Churches are not permitted to be established in Muslim dominated areas in the North, that calls for celebration by Akintola and his MURIC of mockery!
Should we mention Islamic terrorism?
How about Government sponsored discrimination on the basis of religion in violation of Section 10 and Section 38(1) of the Constitution? These will NOT raise dust!
It is the choice of a late businessman, running his personal business according to his preference that will give Akintola, his Ette brother and their MURIC sleepless nights!
Let us call a spade a spade, we need to be honest and address these issues, let us start from the 1999 Constitution! Muslims cannot give Islam prominence in “their” Constitution of Nigeria while other religions are excluded completely and lied that the document represents, “we the people of Nigeria”, but cry foul that a Christian businessman chose not to employ a Muslim!
The rejoinder written by one Prince Jibril Ette, Chairman, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Akwa Ibom chapter, who also said his name is Prince Jibril Ayu-Akpanim, whichever to believe as his identity, who wrote; “for the fact that he repeatedly smeared the outstanding image of Prof Ishaq AKINTOLA, the Director of MURIC, referring to his excellent contributions in addressing the plight of maligned Muslims in and outside Nigeria as ‘one man group’, ” berates intelligence.
We are yet to hear Akintola’s voice on the maligned indigenous Hausa tribe of Kastina State who are being wiped out by the Fulani lords! Was Akintola on holiday when the Governor of Kastina State accused Fulanis of fomenting the trouble that have engulfed the home state of Mr. President? Or the MURIC has no say in all that?
Finally, he needs to mind his business and stop playing busy-body in issues that concern the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) all the time. Goggle it, he has no other job than always attacking, condemning and insulting CAN, or is that how to promote Islam, – the “religion of PEACE”?

Re-The Ranting of a Mischief Maker
By Hassan Sani Indabawa
“All Democrats are insane, but not one of them knows it; none but the Republicans and Mugwumps know it. All the Republicans are insane, but only the Democrats and Mugwumps can perceive it. The rule is perfect: in all matters of opinion our adversaries are insane.” – Mark Twain
The American writer and humorist, Mark Twain, might also have some religious zealots in his mind while making the above quoted remarks. For such characters, they do consider others, especially those who do not share their world view, or challenge the banality of their sobriety, as their mortal enemies. They always perceived those who provide an alternative narrative, as misfits, or even extremists.
That is exactly what a certain Dr Bolaji Akinyemi betrayed in his unmitigated caustic attack on MURIC and its irrepressible director, Professor Ishaq Akintola. In a display of a clearly agitated mind, the man resorted to character assassination by targeting Professor Akintola with intent to insolently malign and denigrate MURIC by claiming that the group is non-existing, “MURIC is Ishaq Akintola, he is all to it and all about it!”, he said.
Well, what he and his fellow mischief makers failed to understand is that, Professor Akintola has through a dint of hard work, cultivated formidable friends, associates and social networks across all the sections of Nigeria. Professor Akintola has successfully become a household name across the country by his consistent and powerful counter narrative to the displeasure of bigots and irredentists exemplified by the likes of Dr Akinyemi. Some divisive elements like Akinyemi find it very difficult to conceal their complex and envy in reacting to superior logic of Akintola.
It is common knowledge that the emergence of MURIC, with Professor Akintola as the group’s founder and leader, has put the brakes to the insane suppression and oppression of Muslims, especially in the South West, where albeit, the Yoruba Muslims formed the majority. The hypocrisy of some groups like CAN and Afenifere is being exposed with the counter narrative provided by MURIC. The consistency and the well-articulated proficiency of MURIC’s series of press releases have evidently irritated the warped minds of the likes of Akinyemi. Instead of them to counter Akintola’s interventions with logic, they rather resorted to insults and name calling.
We all know how uncomfortable many Yoruba Christian elite become with the constant expose by MURIC. When Amotekun, a supposedly Pan-Yoruba security outfit was conceived and formed, Professor Akintola challenged the Yoruba leadership on why Yoruba Muslims were ostracized and not considered to be members of the regional security outfit. He also boldly stated the position of Yoruba Muslims by distancing themselves from the baseless agitation of the so-called Oduduwa Republic. MURIC similarly challenged the Afenifere on why no notable Yoruba Muslim figure was ever considered to be appointed as the group’s leader. Professor Akintola has equally spearheaded an advocacy for the emergence of a Yoruba Muslim as the next president of Nigeria.
These and other timely interventions by MURIC is obviously what made many bigots to become wild in their verbal attacks and smear campaign against the person of Professor Ishaq Akintola.
They failed to recognize the valour and candour of an irrepressible fighter whose third name is ‘fearless’. They cannot fathom the fact that, Professor Akintola is a rare gem endowed with exceptional leadership qualities who cannot be intimidated into silence by their pedestrian engagements. Professor Akintola has succeeded in forging South-North Muslim solidarity; a rare feat achieved by extremely few Yoruba leaders.
With active MURIC presence in 27 states of Nigeria, it is only an ignorant or an insane man who would proclaim the group as a “one man Group.” With quality leadership provided by Professor Akintola, MURIC would continue to expose and challenge the hypocrisy inherent in some public engagements with mischievous groups like CAN and Afenifere. The casual bigotry of the Yoruba Christian establishment against their brothers is going to be dismantled by the constant demand from MURIC and the rest of Nigerian Muslims.
The likes of Dr Bolaji Akinyemi would do good to themselves if they can eschew chauvinism, Islamophobia and hate mongering by learning from Professor Akintola who started as a “One Man Group” but ended up forming unarguably one of the most active and vibrant Muslim organizations with formidable membership in almost all sections of Nigeria. It takes considerable sacrifice, doggedness and above all, sincerity of purpose to attain such an enviable feat without any support, unlike what the MURIC traducers thought that MURIC got its support from some imaginary sources. The group finances its activities through self-contributions by its members. But the haters cannot understand this simple truth. What they perceive is that which their hearts harbour, whether they are this or that; or whether they may even pretend to be playing Mugwumps!

Ishaq Akintola, Muric and Collapsed Lagos Building: The Ranting of a Mischief Maker
Professor Ishaq Akintola has enjoyed monopoly of caustic thoughts, violent inciting expressions in vulgarity unbecoming of a 21st Century society! It is no longer news that Lagos has been taken over by fundamentalists of Akintola’s brotherhood whose view of Government he represents.
May be Akintola should confirm to us if indeed we have a Sharia Court at Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area as presently being alleged courtesy of the influence of his Muslim brother and the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, RT Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, whose review of the law of Lagos State enabled such!
To refer to Akintola’s views as representing “An Islamic human rights group”, is to insult Islam being a religion of peace!
There has never been anything promoting peace in his views, just Google his name and check his views. His views had often been left unattended to because silence is the best answer for his likes!
Moreover, there is absolutely no need to dignify debased reasonings in a modern society!
If Muslims in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole know what is good for them, then this Jihad ideologist should be called to order!
Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), is far from being a group representing Islam. MURIC is all about Ishaq Akintola and the views of his paymasters whoever they are in Lagos, Nigeria or other nations who are hell bent on Islamizing Lagos and has strategically positioned him at Lagos State University, (now Lateef Jakande University) using him to de-stabilise the peace of Lagos and Nigeria by extension!
How can a man be referred to as a group? MURIC is Ishaq Akintola, he is all to it and all about it!
Akintola, on the 5th of November 2021, through a press release, on behalf of his one man Group, MURIC, claimed that the rejection of a Muslim engineer who went for a job at the site of the collapsed 21-storey building on Gerrard Street, Ikoyi, Lagos but was rejected by the developer on account of his faith is a strong evidence of the alienation of Muslims in Yorubaland! How?
Ishaq Akintola berated his learning when he used such isolated case to draw his conclusions!
I would have expected him to reach out to his Muslim brother, Hakeem Muri-Okunola to provide him the statistics of Lagos State Civil Service, so the world can appreciate the dominance of the service by Muslims and the needless hew cry of Akintola!
I must appreciate Sikiru Adebowale, the Engineer who went on interview at the collapse building and left barely an hour before the building went down, for his maturity. I was forced to look for the video of him that Akintola based his vituperations upon. There was nothing lacking decorum in his manners.
He stated his disappointments and even offered how best he felt the deceased Mr Femi Osibona should have approached the issue! Unfortunately, the view of Mr Femi on this can no longer be available. May God rest his soul!
However, he was a private employer who is entitled to setting parameters for employment services suitable to him in his organisation! He is not the government of Lagos State, not an official of Christian Association of Nigeria or a representative of Afenifere or Oduduwa Nation! Ishaq Akintola’s conclusion is mischievous, a figement of his very wild imaginations!
According to Sikiru Adebowale, Femi Osibona asked him which Church he was attending. How are we sure even though he is a Christian, if he would have been offered the job if his denomination is not same with Mr Femi Osibona’s?
“A video clip on YouTube has featured a certain Sikiru Adebowale who claimed to have gone for a job interview with the developer of the 21-storey building on Gerrard Street, Ikoyi, Lagos which collapsed on Wednesday, 2nd November, 2021. Mr. Sikiru Adebowale, a Muslim, told viewers that the developer refused to employ him because he is a Muslim!
“Expectedly, the video has gone viral! But despite the fact that millions of Nigerians have viewed the video clip, we in MURIC suspect that few people will comprehend the implications therein. Of course we as an Islamic human rights organisation must not lose sight of one salient point which is inherent in the revelation”.
Who are the “we” of MURIC that Ishaq Akintola referred to, obviously the civilised Engineer Sikiru Adebowale is not one of his members! It is about time that the secret faces behind MURIC should come public if indeed there is a group anywhere by that name. Ishaq Akintola should publish the names of such persons and the minutes of their last meeting if he hopes to be taken serious!
Akintola further stated, “We urge those who do not believe us to review the video clip and listen to Mr. Sikiru Adebowale.”
I will encourage all peace loving people, Muslims, Christians, Traditionalists even Atheists read Ishaq Akintola’s press release and watch the video like he asked us to, no one in their right minds will agree with the mischief Akintola is trying to make an issue!
Akintola is nothing but a bigot planted and being sponsored by those who are angry with modest practice of Islam among the Yorubas as seen in places like United Arab Emirates. A paid agent of those who must destabilise Yoruba nation for their winner takes it all brand of Islam! If Akintola is angry with the loving culture of the Omoluabi people of South West Nigeria, he is at liberty to seek another tribe and nationality for himself among sympathisers. The Yorubas are loving people and nothing will make us hate mongers!
I will sincerely call on Lagos State Government and the Federal Government of Nigeria to have MURIC thoroughly investigated to know those who are behind this extreme views promoting organization and their link with international Terrorist and terror funding organization.
This was how Boko Haram started with anti social ideology! A stitch in time they say saves nine, Lagosians and Nigerians must be saved from the nuisance that Ishaq and his one man Jihad ideology is becoming to Lagosians and Nigerians, home and abroad!

Lagos for Lagos? Not anymore!
By Tunde Jakande
From Ebute Metta through Yaba, Somolu, Ikeja, Ajah and even in the heart of the state, Lagos Island , new housing estates are rising.
Developers are buying old family houses, shops, undeveloped plots of land.
They are building modern structures including hotels, shopping malls etc.
Developers have moved to rural areas like Ikorodu, Ikosi Ejirin, Imota, Eredo, Epe, Ibeju Lekki, Sangotedo etc and buying up every available land.
In the twenty local government councils and thirty seven development centres, a handful of developers have secured building rights.
Their companies are remodeling market structures and motor parks. They have attained power to let or sell shops/space.
My home town Oke Popo in Lagos Islander has not been spared. Ownership and tenancy have changed hands.
Children of my late aunties and uncles have sold or leased out their heritage. They are now tenants or have relocated.
While the Lagos for Lagos campaigns rages, the fact on ground is obvious to the discerning mind.
Lagos is no longer for Lagosians!
The future of Lagos for Lagosians maybe yesterday’s reality. The future of Lagos may not even be for Yorubas.
Thousands of hectares, markets, family buildings that form the heritage bequeathed by our fathers is being sold.
From amuwo odofin, Festac, Satellite Town, Ojo etc, the new structures are predominantly owned by young igbo boys.
All these are being bought with legal tender and the transfer of ownership papers, legit. They pay their taxes and levies to government.
While we chant Lagos for Lagosians, non indigienes especially Igbos are arriving penniless and becoming billionaires in this city we call our own.
When I drive round my city, I see thousands of able bodied indigeneous playing drought or ludo in the morning.
I see our young blood riding kekenap and okada. A significant number are foot soldiers for National Union Road Transport Workrs (NURTW). Our Politicians do not see what I see.
Daily, public office holders treat letters for financial assistance from indigenes. Most of the assistance is for naming ceremonies, burials and birthdays.
Igbo boys are helping each other set up shops and give out start up capital in millions of naira. They collaborate in business.
Family houses in Eric Moore, Adeniran Ogunsanya, Bode Thomas all in prime Surulere, are being sold to mostly igbos.
While the population of indigeneous is decreasing with many relocating to other states or abroad, Igbos are relocating to
Lagos, en mass.
If democracy is a game of numbers, guess who will not just own the houses but determine who win elections.
If you see this scenario as impossible its because you are not visionary like our leaders.
Empower the Indigenous youths economically otherwise………
