New Commissioner of Police for Lagos State on Thursday officially resumed at the Lagos Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
Cornelius Aderanti took over from the immediate past commissioner, Umar Manko, who was promoted as Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG, in charge of Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos.
Speaking during the exchange of baton between the two officers, Aderanti pledged to build on the legacies of Manko and to reduce crime to the barest in Lagos State.
The new Police Commissioner joined the Nigeria Police Force in January 1984 as a cadet ASP. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of Ibadan.
