Community leaders in Ijora Badia, a suburb of Lagos have commended the peace accord entered into some months back saying peace has finally returned to the community.
Some leaders of the community, a few months ago led youths in the area on a peace walk to sensitize the people on the need to embrace peaceful co-existence. The peace walk was held to intimate residents in the area of the need to desist from violence and embrace peace. The move was in response to earlier complaints of residents that recurrent violence in the community had crippled business activities in the area forcing some people to close shops.

He explained that the King of Ijora Badia, His Royal Highness Oba Fatia Aromire Ayegbemi is in full support of the ongoing peace programme in the area, while emphasizing that business activities have improved tremendously in the area compared to what obtained in the past. He however appealed to youths in the community to keep up with the peace accord.
Another Community leader, Alh Adisa Faranta said the situation in the community is calm now compared to a few months ago when residents were afraid to move from one point of the area to the other. He added that hooligans who frequently disturb the peace of the community have been tamed.
Faranta said they are happy with the present state of affairs in the community.
