Idimu Fire: Ambode Assures Residents of Government Intervention

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has assured residents of Idimu area of Lagos who lost properties worth millions of naira to an early morning inferno on Saturday, that his government will review reports of rescue agencies and the police before announcing how much help the government will give to the affected residents.

IDIMU FIREAmbode was speaking after carrying out an on-the-spot assessment of the fire scene.

According to Mr Fatai Fadipe, head of the Lagos Fire Services, a total of 34 Buildings were affected in the inferno while about 70 shops were razed down. Although many people were caught in the incident, no life was lost.

The fire was started when two tankers conveying diesel fell after trying to outdo each other on the Idimu road.
